Weiner Oboe

The Vienna/Salzburg oboists played on an oboe called the "Weiner Oboe" or, "Vienna Oboe". There are certainly differences between them, such as timbre, vibrato production, and the change in register point. I honestly prefer the sound a French oboe makes, however the Vienna oboe does not sound bad at all.

Pictures absolutely refuse to work whenever I post them, so I will simply describe some aesthetic differences. Please google the pictures of the Vienna oboe versus the French oboe, or more specifically, Loreé oboe if you wish.
The type of oboe I play on is a French Oboe made by the company Loreé. You can see subtle differences- the bulb under the reed hold at the top, the outward curve of the Vienna oboe's bell.
